Our activity
Toyal Europe produces and markets aluminium powders and aluminium pigments in paste form, supplying its industrial customers with the pigments needed to produce technical and creative paints.
The company is also present in other markets with functional products, particularly for the aerospace and defence sectors.
Toyal develops and produces technical powders for high-tech sectors (additive manufacturing) where the company is positioned as one of the most innovative players. Our customers and partners in the industry make Toyal a major and essential player in the market.
Finally, the company is positioning itself on other very high-tech markets such as the covering of parts with “cold spray” and “thermal interface materials” to dissipate heat (batteries, technical glue, nano-thermal materials, etc.).
Our history
Located in the heart of the Aspe Valley, the company’s history has always been linked to that of the Aspe Valley.
The history of the company and the valley began in 1938.
Aluminium Alcan de France, a subsidiary of the Canadian group Alcan, decided to set up an alumina-to-aluminum transformation site near a hydroelectric source.
As a recognized player, Alcan is planning to promote the production of aluminum powders and pastes (Alpâte®) at the Accous site, in addition to the production of aluminum.
The Second World War brutally interrupted production.
The post-war period saw the revival of the activity on site, but the nationalisation of electricity (and creation of EDF) put an end to the exploitation of cheap electricity. Thus, the production of aluminum metal is abandoned; however, the production of Alpâte® aluminum powders and pastes continues.
A joint venture with Japan
The group in the world
A subsidiary of the Japanese NLM Group (13,611 employees, €3.5 billion turnover in 2019), Toyal Europe is directly attached to the Powders and Pastes division of its parent company Toyo Aluminium KK based in OSAKA (3,995 employees, €680 million turnover in 2020)
